Max Mutzke – Warm-up Show

StrandGut Cultural Moments: October 27, 2026, with Max Mutzke at Dünen-Hus St. Peter-Ording, presented by StrandGut Resort & the St. Peter-Ording Tourist Office

Advance ticket sales start on February 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

The impressive career of singer-songwriter Max Mutzke began in 2004 with the number one hit “Can't Wait Until Tonight,” which earned him eighth place in the Eurovision Song Contest. Since then, the artist has been thrilling his fans with his recognizable, soulful, smooth voice and diverse musical talents. Whether pop, rock, soul, funk, or jazz—Max Mutzke masters every genre.

Max Mutzke has now released eight studio albums and two live albums. His current album “XX” was released on October 11, 2024—in the twentieth year of his impressive career. It does justice to all facets of the artist and, unlike his previous albums, is not a purely German-language album: his song “Forever Strong,” with which he once again participated in the ESC preliminary round in February 2024, is featured on the album, as is the song “California Spider,” released on August 9, 2024.

Max Mutzke captivates his audience not only with his distinctive voice, but above all with his versatility. The singer has already demonstrated this in his collaborations with various artists: for years, Max Mutzke has been playing with jazz greats such as Klaus Doldinger, Wolfgang Haffner, Bill Evans, Till Brönner, Nils Wülker, Matti Klein Band, Marialy Pacheco, and many more, but also with the biggest and most successful big bands such as the SWR Big Band, the WDR Funkhausorchester, the Big Band der Bundeswehr, and even with classical orchestras such as the NDR Radiophilharmonie, the Filmorchester Babelsberg, and the string quintet Takeover Ensemble.

He also continues to enjoy success on TV: in 2019, Max Mutzke won the first season of the TV show “The Masked Singer” dressed as an astronaut, and in early 2021, his first TV show, “Lebenslieder” (Songs of Life), premiered on ARD, with a second season following in April 2022. Max Mutzke looks back on his extraordinary life with its ups and downs in his book “So viel mehr. Meine Geschichte” (So Much More: My Story), published on October 9, 2024. In it, he recounts his childhood in the Black Forest with five siblings, the blows of fate he suffered, and his path into show business.

In addition to his numerous projects, social engagement is a matter particularly close to his heart: Max Mutzke is an active supporter of the German Children's Association in Essen with its campaign against child abuse, has taken on the patronage of NACOA (advocacy group for children in Germany who suffer from alcohol or drug addiction in their families) at the Waldshut women's and children's shelter, and is active as an ambassador for the Misereor relief organization.
