StrandGut cultural moments: On November 1 with Jens Wawrczeck - actor, audiobook interpreter and the voice of Peter Shaw from “Die drei ???”
“What if, while reading this book, you imagined we were going to the movies together? To a private screening of Hitchcock's life's work. I'll show you 5264 minutes of movie. 88 hours of suspense. Noble look. Explosive content ...”
Are all mothers really monsters? Which books are behind Alfred Hitchcock's greatest films? And who are the real villains on the big screen?
Jens Wawrczeck passionately traces the iconic works of the great director Alfred Hitchcock and takes us on his very personal journey through the Hitchcock universe.
You sit with him in front of the television when he watches the first Hitchcock film, accompany him to the recording studio for the “Three ???” recordings and travel the world with him: from Hamburg to New York, from Bodega Bay to London, always on the trail of Hitchcock's masterpieces. He tells how Hitchcock's films helped him in his search for his own identity and showed him that the answer to the question “Am I crazy or is it the others?” always depends on your point of view. Wawrczeck shows everything worth knowing: What is a vertigo effect? And: Which movie do you start with on your way to becoming a Hitchcockian?
“For me, Alfred Hitchcock's films are a free fall into the unknown. Up is down. Near is far. Light is dark. That's part of the great pleasure. That's how to Hitchcock.”
Jens Wawrczeck, born in Denmark in 1963, has won several awards as an actor and audiobook interpreter, released his debut album as a singer in 2020 and works sporadically as a dubbing book author and director. He gained particular fame with the radio play series “The Three Question Marks”. On his audoba label and in his stage programs “Hitch and I”, he devotes himself to the literature that inspired the great Alfred Hitchcock to make his films.
